Since 2011 Black has been consulting in Beijing as Creative Director of the Chinese luxury cashmere brand 1436. The label is renowned for its expertise in creating the finest cashmere of the highest quality from the Etuoke grasslands of Inner Mongolia. To date, 1436 has established more than 42 stores throughout China. Most recently Graeme Black was instrumental in the opening of its flagship store in Beijing, designed by renowned American architect Michael Gabellini. Graeme has regularly shot both men’s and women’s campaigns in New York with photographers such as Walter Chin and Sebastian Kim.
